The parents of boys and girls reported similar patterns of abilities. 73 to 75 percent of the parents rated their children's abilities as farily or very good. Of these 73 to 75 percent over 50 percent of the boys and girls abilities were reported as fairly good.

The source adds further comments: "Quotas were set to ensure an even minimum sample of 500 parents of children aged between 5-9, 10-14 and 15-18. Data were weighted by age, gender and region to be representative by all parents in Great Britain."
