This statistic displays the division of senators by political party in the federal elections of May 26th, 2019 in Belgium. N-VA, the Flemish nationalist party, obtained the largest number of seats with nine senators. The French- speaking socialist party, PS is currently represented by seven senators, while the Flemish Vlaams Belang gained seven seats in the senate in the 2019 elections.

* Since 2014 the federal elections for the Belgian Federal Parliament are held every 5 years. The bicameral parliament consists of the Chamber of Representatives, whose 150 members are directly elected in the federal elections, and the Senate, where the senators are not directly elected. Since the elections of 2014 the Senate consists of 29 senators selected by the Flemish Parliament, 10 senators selected by the Parliament of the French Community, 8 senators selected by the Parliament of Wallonia, 2 senators selected by the French-speaking part of the Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region, and 1 senator selected by the Parliament of the German-speaking Community. 10 senators (6 Dutch-speaking, 4 French-speaking) are co-opted members based on the division in the Chamber of Representatives.
