The statistic shows the most trusted sources of general news and information according to consumers in Canada from 2012 to 2017. According to survey results, trust in traditional media as a source for news and information has been declining since 2012 when 71 percent of responding Canadians said they trusted the medium. In 2017, 58 percent of consumers indicated traditional media as a trusted source of news. In early 2016 it was found that Canadian Anglophones chose CTV News as their main offline news source. Global News and CBC News were both consulted for news by 12 percent of English-speaking Canadians. However, at the same time 10 percent of consumers in Canada said they went to CBC News online when they searched the internet for news.
