Infrastructure and capital projects reached 124.5 billion U.S. dollars in Southern Africa as of 2020. This was the highest value among all regions in the continent. North Africa followed closely, registering construction projects with a total value of 111 billion U.S. dollars. Overall, infrastructure and capital projects in Africa had a decrease of around 20 percent in value that same year, compared to 2019.
