higher than in Texas, the next U.S. state in the ranking. This might not be surprising for some, as the Golden State is also the most populous U.S. state. Nevertheless, some differences are still observed: Florida, for instance, has more residents than New York but less LEED certifications. Meanwhile, the District of Columbia was the U.S. territory with the highest number of certifications per capita.
