In the third quarter of 2020, there were more than 390.6 million mobile connections in Latin America and the Caribbean using Long-Term Evolution (LTE) technology. This is almost 13 percent more than the 346.4 million LTE connections recorded in the region one year before, in the third quarter of 2019. Meanwhile, the number of mobile connections using Wideband Code-Division Multiple Access (W-CDMA) and Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) technologies decreased, reaching around 234.5 million and 66.7 million in the third quarter of 2020, respectively.
