Philip Morris International Inc. (PMI) is one of the world’s largest tobacco companies. PMI’s diverse portfolio includes international and local brands such as Marlboro, L&M, Philip Morris, Parliament, Bond Street, Chesterfield, Lark, Sampoerna A (Indonesia), Fortune (Philippines), Optima (Russia) and Delicados (Mexico). The company sells its brands in over 180 markets. Marlboro has been the world’s best-selling cigarette brand since the early 1970s. The company’s history began when Mr. Philip Morris opened a shop which sold tobacco and ready-made cigarettes on Bond Street in London in 1847. In 2022, the net revenue of Philip Morris worldwide exceeded 80 billion U.S. dollars. The European Union accounted for roughly a quarter of the company’s total net revenue.
