This statistic represents the electric capacity of waste-to-energy facilities in the United States in 2018, based on the leading states. During this year, there were nine waste-to-energy plants in Minnesota which had a combined electric capacity of 123.2 megawatts. The majority of facilities use a mass burn technology to combust municipal solid waste without pre-processing.
