In 2021, the personnel costs of the repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles industry in Germany increased by 1.6 billion euros (+5.93 percent) since 2020. With 28.8 billion euros, the personnel costs thereby reached their highest value in the observed period. Personnel costs are made up of wages, salaries and employers' social security costs. They include taxes and employees' social security contributions retained by the employer, as well as the employer's compulsory and voluntary social contributions.

Data coverage corresponds to code G45 of the CE_R2 of economic activities, which is wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles.
