Public cloud services are expected to account for a greater share of cloud infrastructure spending in coming years, reaching almost 46 percent by 2024. Cloud infrastructure refers to the components needed for cloud computing, which include hardware, storage, network resources and abstracted resources. Each of these individual components is integrated into an architecture supporting business operations.
What are the advantages of using cloud services?
Cloud services offer several advantages to businesses, including enhanced security, reduced costs, and increased automatic software updates and ease of data access from different devices and locations. This has led to continued growth in the industry, with a recent survey showing up to 87 percent of enterprise respondents including hybrid cloud solutions in their organizations.
Cloud deployment models
The basic elements constituting a cloud infrastructure underly both private and public clouds. Private clouds are clouds made available only to select users instead of a general public. Additionally, private clouds are managed by the company’s IT department, which renders them responsible for costs and maintenance. In contrast, public clouds are managed by the cloud provider and made accessible to a variety of customers. Importantly, security concerns have repeatedly been raised regarding public cloud environments, which underscores the importance of correct implementation and the usage of proper security methods.
