This graph shows the smartphone penetration rate worldwide by region from 2010 to 2014, with forecasts from 2015 to 2019. In 2014, 68.4 percent of the mobile phone users in Western Europe were smartphone users. This number is expected to rise to over 80 percent by 2019. As of 2015, South Korea had the highest smartphone penetration rate in the world, with around 88 percent of adults owning a smartphone. Behind South Korea were Australia, Israel, and then the United States.
