The COVID-19 pandemic drove the use of digital channels worldwide. In 2020, e-commerce as a percentage of retail sales increased in all regions. Although its share declined slightly in North America and Western Europe once the health crisis subsided, forecasts point to a generalized - albeit slower - growth in e-commerce's share of total sales in the next years.
