This statistic displays the proportion of the paid-for apps obtained through an in-app purchase on tablet devices used by children according to parents and caregivers in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2015, by age group. During the survey period, it was found that of the responding parents and caregivers 60 percent stated that their four to five year old children used an estimated 0 to 20 percent paid-for apps on their tablet device.

"C-Q2. Of all the apps that you have downloaded to the tablet device used by your child, please could you estimate the proportion that you have purchased, subscribed to or paid for through an in-app purchase?"
The source adds the following information: "Percentages out of each demographic group, e.g. 2.9% of 0 to 2 year olds in the study use 0 to 20% paid‐for apps on their tablet device. Statistical significance noted in column headers for associations between number of apps and demographic group (including Cramer’s V effect sizes)."
