Global mobile messaging user growth 2019-2025

In 2020, the number of phone users who accessed over-the-top messaging apps to communicate increased by almost 14 percent compared to the previous year, due to the impact of the global coronavirus pandemic outbreak. In 2021, users on mobile messaging apps will increase by approximately six percent compared to the previous year. This annual growth rate is projected to slow to 2.6 percent in 2025.
