As of 2017, it was estimated that the wired broadband subscription rate in India reached decreased to about 1.3 active subscriptions per 100 inhabitants of the population from 1.4 active subscriptions in the previous year. On the other hand, the mobile-broadband subscription rate shot up from 16.8 subscriptions per 100 inhabitants in 2016, to 25.8 mobile-broadband subscriptions in 2017.
