This statistic shows the generics share of Canada's prescribed drugs market value from 2006 to 2023. The cost share reached a maximum of 25.6 percent in 2010. By 2019, the value of generic drug sales had decreased to just 19.1 percent of all dollars spent on medication. However, the share of costs increased since then to over 22 percent in 2023.
