This statistic displays the capacity of photovoltaic power in Ontario from 2012 to 2016. In 2016, solar power capacity reached 2.6 gigawatts in the province. Ontario has by far the highest solar PV capacity in the country. As all the provincial and territorial governments now support net-metering or net-billing and as system costs have decreased, generation of solar energy is gradually approaching grid parity in Canada.
