In Canada, the highest value of venture capital (VC) transactions were signed in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector in 2023. That year, the value of VC deals signed in the ICT sector amounted to approximately four billion Canadian dollars. This was followed by the life sciences sector, wherein VC deals signed amounted to approximately 1.1 billion Canadian dollars. Deals signed in the cleantech and agribusiness sectors amounted to 1,121 million and 273 million Canadian dollars, respectively.
