The value of Canadian venture capital (VC) investments increased overall between the first quarter of 2013 and the fourth quarter of 2023, albeit with some fluctuation. The highest value of venture capital transactions in Canada recorded in the second quarter of 2021, amounting to 5.4 billion Canadian dollars. In 2023, the value of VC deals were worth around 6.9 billion Canadian dollars, less than deals in the previous year. That year, the highest value VC deals were closed in the second quarter, and were worth over 3.13 billion Canadian dollars.
