In Canada, the highest value of private equity (PE) deals were closed in the province of Ontario in 2023. A total of 4.2 billion Canadian dollars worth of PE deals were closed in the province that year. Quebec secured the second place with a deal value amounting to four billion Canadian dollars. Quebec and Ontario not only secured the largest investments in 2023, but also had the highest number of PE deals closed in the country. Despite having fewer deals than British Columbia, Alberta surpassed BC in terms of the value of transactions, amounting to 840 million Canadian dollars.
