Share of net P/C insurance premiums written in Canada 2022, by line
In 2022, 39 percent of all net premiums written for property and casualty (P/C) insurance in Canada were in the auto insurance sector. This is the largest of any single sector, and almost twice that of the next largest line of P/C insurance, personal property. In total, the value of Canadian auto insurance net premiums amounted to 26.5 billion Canadian dollars in 2022.
