Book purchase sales channels in Canada 2023, by format

The most used sales channel for buying print books in Canada in 2024 was via online retailers, with 12 percent of respondents to a January 2024 survey saying they got books this way in the previous year. Audiobook and e-book buyers, on the other hand, differed from print buyers but splayed similar purchasing behavior to each other, with consumers most likely to buy e-books or audiobooks via online retailers or subscription services.
