Sales of sand and gravel in Great Britain reached over 14 million of metric tons in 2021. The volume of sales peaked in 2017, with over 15 million metric tons sold in the first quarter. In contrast, those figures dropped significantly in 2020, particularly in the second quarter of that year. This could be explained by the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
