However, sales volume decreased after that and registered at an index value of 91.1 in 2023. On the other hand, retail sales volume of small businesses saw an overall increasing trend starting from 2013 and reached an index value of 105.8 in 2023.

Large businesses are defined by the source as "large retailers employing 100 people or more and those with annual turnover of greater than 60 million GBP who employ 10 to 99 people." Small businesses are those employing less than 100 people with a turnover lower than 60 million GBP.
