Govia Thameslink: age of trains 2019

This statistic shows the average age in years of the Govia Thameslink Railway rolling stock between 2007/08 and 2018/19. The average age of the former First Capital Connect trains increased by one year each year as of the fourth quarter of the financial year 2011/12 until the fourth quarter of 2013/14, suggesting that the composition of the rolling stock was not changed between 2011/12 and 2013/14. In September 2014, First Capital Connect was taken over by Govia Thameslink Railway. Between 2014 and 2019 the average age of rolling stock, now operated by Govia Thameslink Railway, has decreased significantly.
