The responsibility of the Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA) is to regulate insurers, deposit takers, and the largest investment firms in the United Kingdom (UK), it seeks to address any potential risks that the firms under it's supervision pose to financial system stability. It can be seen that at that time the Prudential Regulatory Authority supervised just over 620 insurance providers, including 431 general insurers, 170 life insurers and 22 composite insurers.
