The responsibility of the Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA) is to regulate insurers, deposit takers, and the largest investment firms in the United Kingdom (UK), it seeks to address any potential risks that the firms under it's supervision pose to financial system stability. It can be seen that at that time the Prudential Regulatory Authority supervised almost 900 financial institutions, including 481 credit unions, 361 banks and 44 building societies.
