Number of practicing dentists in Finland 2009-2020

In 2020, the number of dentists in Finland remained nearly unchanged at around 4,093 dentists. In comparison to 2019, the number of dentists decreased not significantly by 48 dentists (-1.16 percent).
Practising dentists are dentists who provide dental services to patients. They include stomatologists as well as dental and maxillofacial surgeons. Not included are retired or unemployed dentists, dentists who work abroad, dentists who don't work in direct contact with patients (administration, research, etc.), and students who have not yet graduated.
