Practicing nurses employed in Spain 2010-2021
In 2021, the number of practicing nurses in Spain amounted to more than 300,000 health care professionals, up from around 288,000 nurses employed in the health sector a year prior. Despite a slight decrease between 2013 and 2014, the number of practicing nurses employed in the country was increasing during the period analyzed, reaching its highest value in 2021. That same year, the number of health care assistants employed in Spanish hospitals surpassed 145,000 people.
