This statistic presents the estimated value of funding outstanding, supplied by various sources to small and medium-sized European enterprises as of 2015. Approximately 1.4 trillion euros was provided to SMEs in Europe by banks in the form of loans. Among non-bank financing sources, guarantees of the government amounted to 132 billion euros, whereas financial support offered by family and friends equaled approximately 168 billion euros in that year.
