Visiting the doctor 

In 2018, a survey of British individuals showed that 66 percent of respondents consult with a physician at least once a year. Furthermore, 24 percent of those will see their doctor three times or more in a year. On the other hand, 21 percent said they visit a physician less often than once a year. In countries such as France and Spain there is a higher share of people consulting a physician at least once a year.

Comparisons with other European nations

France had the highest total number of practicing GPs in Europe in 2020 with over 90 thousand, followed by Germany who had 85.5 thousand GPs practicing in this year. The UK has the third highest number of practicing GPs in Europe.
