Android has consistently achieved a much higher market share than iOS in Germany, with around 66 percent in June 2024, compared to around 33.5 percent for iOS. Individually, figures have fluctuated during the observed time period for both OS.

The number of smartphone users in Germany has grown explosively during the last ten years. Back in 2009, 6.3 million users were recorded. Fast forward to 2021 and there were 62.6 million.
