In the past 20 years there has been a drastic shift in the use of mobiles and landlines. Whilst the landline used to be preferred, since 2018 people have been making more calls via mobile than landline. This statistic shows data on the number of outgoing call minutes per day via landline and mobile (excluding roaming) in Germany from 1998 to 2023. In 2023, there were an estimated 439 million outgoing call minutes per day made via mobile.
