Significant events registered on the INES in France 2011-2022
In 2022, 1,372 events rated on the International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale (INES) occurred in France. This value increased since 2010, with a drop in 2020. The events involving the exposure to ionizing radiations included a lack of safety measures in basic nuclear installations, insufficient protection in small-scale nuclear activities, such as research in the medical and industrial sector, and the transportation of radioactive material.
