About one-third (33%) of the fraud cases were detected within six months of their occurrence between 2020 and 2021. 6 percent of all fraud cases are detected after over 60 months of their occurrence. These are also the cases that cause the highest financial median loss.

Respondents were asked about the single largest occupational fraud case they had investigated between January 2020 and September 2021.
