The survey is based on the German-speaking population aged 14 years and older, in private households at the place of main residence in Germany.
Information on basic sample:
2013: 8,702 respondents, projected base of 70.33 million persons
2014: 8,156 respondents, projected base of 70.52 million persons
The survey question was phrased as follows: "According to this list, how would you assess your own knowledge about computers and computer technology?" (Original German question: "Wie stufen Sie sich im Bereich Computer und Computertechnik selbst ein? Sagen Sie es mir bitte nach dieser Liste.")
