Mobile features: Bluetooth and infrared port usage in Germany 2015

This data show the results of a survey concerning the usage of Bluetooth and infrared ports on mobile phones and smartphones in Germany from 2013 to 2015. In 2013, roughly 17.33 million German mobile phone and smartphone users aged 14 years and older used the Bluetooth or infrared features of their phone, for instance to use wireless hands-free devices or exchange files with a PC without plugging it in.

The survey is based on the German-speaking population aged 14 years and older, in private households at the place of main residence in Germany.

Information on random sample:
2013: 8,702 respondents, projected base of 73.33 million people
2014: 8,156 respondents, projected base of 70.52 million people
2015: 7,009 respondents, projected base of 69.24 million people

Information on target group "German-speaking mobile phone and smartphone users":
2013: projected base of 62.00 million people
2014: projected base of 62.41 million people
2015: projected base of 62.70 million people

The survey question was phrased as follows:
"Many mobile phones and smartphones have additional functions or special features. This is a list of possible features. Which of these features do you actually use? Feature: Bluetooth/infrared port."
