This statistic shows the results of an online survey conducted by the National Coffee Association (NCA) from 2013 to 2020. U.S. survey respondents were asked if the coffee they consumed the past day was gourmet coffee that was brewed from premium whole bean or ground varieties. The survey revealed that past-day penetration of gourmet coffee beverages in 2020 among U.S. consumers was 59 percent.

Gourmet coffee beverages: Traditional coffee - gourmet, espresso-based beverages and iced/frozen blended coffee.
Previous years' base: 2013 (n=1,789), 2014 (n=1,671), 2015 (n=1,644), 2016 (n=1,571), 2017 (n=1,973), 2018 (n= 1,746) and 2019 (n= 1,756).
Most recent survey was conducted in January 2020.
