U.S. console game releases 2018-2021, by format
Physical releases for console games in the United States have been declining steadily over the last few years. In 2021, only 10.3 percent of new console games for PlayStation, XBox, and Switch consoles were available in physical and digital formats. This is less than half from the 23.3 percent of new games being released in digital and physical format in 2018. Digital exclusive titles accounted for the lion's share of over 89 percent of new releases.
