Cosmetic and personal care market sales in Norway 2010-2022

The Norwegian cosmetics market’s sales value increased constantly in recent years, reaching approximately 16.2 billion Norwegian kroner in 2022. This market includes the following product categories: skin care, sun care, hair care, decorative cosmetics, fragrances, and hygiene products. When looking at the development in cosmetics sales in Norway compared to a year earlier, it can be seen that it fluctuated strongly from 2010 to 2022. The Norwegian cosmetics market showed the by far highest growth in 2020, and grew by 13.7 percent.

 L’Oréal Norge 

The annual profit of L’Oréal Norge AS has fluctuated between 2008 and 2022. In 2016, the French company reached a record-high profit of almost 150 million Norwegian kroner. Compared to more recent years, however, annual profit was much lower, amounting to almost 63 million Norwegian kroner in 2022.  

 Leading cosmetic companies 

Among the companies operating in the Norwegian cosmetics, perfume, and hairdressing industry, Normal Norge AS led the revenue ranking. As of January 2024, the drugstore chain generated nearly 3.25 billion Norwegian kroner. It was ahead of the companies Essity Norway AS, L’Oréal Norge AS, and Kicks Norge AS.
