The survey is based on the German-speaking population aged 14 years and older in private households at main residence in the Federal Republic of Germany.

2013: 8,702 respondents, projected base of 70.33 million people
2014: 8,156 respondents, projected base of 70.52 million people
2015: 7,009 respondents, projected base of 69.24 million people

The source phrased the survey question as follows: "On these cards you can see a selection of offers and new technological possibilities, which already exist or will exist in the near future. It doesn't matter if you have the technological means to access these services or not: which of these would you be interested in personally, which of these would you find useful?
Product/technical development: "Medical advice via the internet, resulting in fewer physical visits to the doctor."
(Original German question: "Hier auf den Karten sind einige Angebote und technische Entwicklungen aufgeschrieben, die es bereits heute gibt oder in naher Zukunft geben wird. Einmal abgesehen davon, ob Sie über die technischen Möglichkeiten verfügen: Was davon interessiert Sie persönlich, was können Sie selbst gut gebrauchen?
