In 2023, the largest product category was the fragrance segment, with a market share of more than 20 percent. skin and hair care cosmetics were two other important segments, holding shares of roughly 18 and 15 percent, respectively. The total cosmetics market was valued at roughly three billion euros that year.
From 2022 to 2023, the domestic revenue of skin care products grew by more than 10 percent. The country's revenue of skin care products stood at roughly 500 million euros in 2022 and increased by another 50 million in the following year.
Other segments experienced an increase in revenue in 2023. For instance, the value of fragrance sales grew from 580 million euros to nearly 640 million euros. Similar developments were visible when analyzing Dutch revenue of sunscreen products.
