International tourists visiting the Canary Islands spent in total more than 17.45 billion euros in 2022. That figure shows an increase of close to 2.5 times the amount of the previous year. Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the foreign visitor expenditure in the Spanish autonomous community plunged by 71.4 percent in 2020.
