In 2021, Chinese steel production grew at an annual rate of 0.6 percent, 7.1 percent lower than in 2020. The same low growth rate was also seen in 2015. In the past decade, the annual growth rate of Chinese steel production has fluctuated between 0.6 percent and 11.4 percent.
