According to a report covering newspaper audience reach in the period from October 2019 to September 2020, the average weekly audience of digital newspapers in Canada's biggest CMAs (census metropolitan areas) was highest in Quebec City, where online publications had a reach of 56 percent. Weekly print and digital reach was similar or the same in most major CMAs, although print newspapers in Winnipeg had a notably higher audience than digital papers.

print: among adults who read at least one printed edition of the newspaper in last week based on the title's frequency; digital: audience who acccessed any digital content of the newspaper in the past week
Supplementary notes
A CMA (census metropolitan area) is made up of one or more adjacent municipalities centred on a population center, the latter of which is known as the core. To qualify as a CMA, the area must have a total population of at least 100 thousand, of which 50 thousand or more must live in the core.
