This statistic display the monthly value of cash withdrawals from ATMs (automated teller machines) that belonged to the LINK cash machine network in the United Kingdom (UK) from January 2014 to March 2020. Over time, the values fluctuated, with lower amounts withdrawn in January and February. Approximately 10.3 billion British pounds worth of withdrawals were made in August 2019.
Since the Covid-19 outbreak and subsequent lockdown, March saw a decrease of almost 2.8 billion British pounds in withdrawals as compared to March 2018. March 2020 saw the lowest value of cash withdrawals during any month in the period displayed. A mirrored trend can be seen in the number of cash withdrawals in March 2020.
