This statistic presents the per capita amount of credit transfers made in the European Union from 2000 to 2019. On average, nearly 69 credit transfers per capita were made in the EU in 2018. This was an increase of almost 20 credit transfers per capita in 2010.

Credit transfers, or wire transfers, are a method of electronic funds transfer from one entity or person to another (such as for ex. bank transfers, which rely on a secure system messages (such as SWIFT) from the sending bank to the receiving bank); Due to Brexit, the source from 2020 onwards removed all figures that cover the United Kingdom
