Between 2013 and 2023, the total number of e-money transactions in the Netherlands experienced a sharp decline. There were approximately 122 million e-money transactions made in the Netherlands in 2013, which fell to 17.91 million in 2023. On the other hand, as a general trend, e-money transactions have become more popular in the European Union between 2014 and 2023.
