The number of direct debit payments made in Germany decreased by over 2.32 billion between 2021 and 2023. This was the first decrease observed in Germany since 2014. In 2021, the number of payments reached 11.75 billion, which was the highest amount observed during this period. By 2023, it had declined to approximately 9.44 billion.
