The total number of credit transfers, or wire transfers, made in the euro area, increased between 2010 and 2023. In 2023, approximately 29.71 billion transfers were processed in the region, compared to 11.26 billion in 2000. This means the number of transfers more than doubled during this period, despite some slight fluctuations.
